Wedding plans

I have been happily married to an incredible man for almost 10 years now.  When I planned our winter wedding, I kind of just followed what my sister, some of my friends and bridal magazines did.  It was traditional and it was special.

Thanks to the internet and a few amazing wedding folk (more on that in a bit), I decided that I want to get married again---to the same man. This time, I want to get married outdoors in Sun Valley, just like most of the population on this side of the Mississippi.  I wouldn't have to buy one single bridal magazine, because I have the whole image in my head, plus a few "friends" (who don't even know me) to help me out.

I know this is a family blog, but in case there are any readers out there who are planning a wedding, let me help you out by telling you what I would do, or who I would follow.  I know you are dying to know!  But, you have no idea how much I'm dying to tell you.  Just be sure to invite you to your outdoor Sun Valley wedding.  I would love to attend!

Location is key:  it would either have to be at Trail Creek (fell in love with that location) or a big empty field with views of the mountains and a few horses around.  So, that basically leaves you with just about anywhere.  Someone's big backyard would be just lovely.  I would use the big clear  tent that I have discovered on a few local blogs.  You can see the evening stars through the tent. So magical!

Photographer:  With no hesitation, I would choose Hillary Maybery, but that would mean that I would have to book her now since she fills up quickly. I would also want her to do my engagement photos since she makes everyone look like a rock star and super model at the same time. Who wouldn't want that?  Hillary pay attention to every detail and her images always pop beautifully.

Wedding consultant:  Since I have a grand idea in my head, I would need someone to help me with the little details and make sure everything is PERFECT  on my big day, so I would choose Taylor 'D Events I stalk her blog regularly and dream big.

Dress:  Almost every day, I drive by Paula's dress shop in Hailey and daydream for a bit while I eyeball her gorgeous and stylish dresses in the window. I have shopped in her store a few times and she is so helpful with finding everyone's dream dress, so she would be choice #1 for my wedding dress.  Something simple, classy and makes me look beautiful and elegant.

Florist:  I don't know if I just love the store or love the flowers more, but I have a thing for Ketchum Flower Company.  They present everything that I want in my wedding dress.  Yet, I have a dilemma, since I also love Sue Bridman's flowers.  She always uses such creative and unique  material in her stunning arrangements and makes me look at flowers in an entirely new way.  So, my friends, it's a complete tie between the two florists.

Invites:  Willow Papery---gorgeous selection and great customer service.  Plus, they hand out M & M's every time I'm in there.

When it comes to food choices, we are all in luck since there are so many beyond excellent caterers in town.

So there you go, my wedding dream in a nutshell.   One should never stop dreaming, so dream big!!
