It's an old fashioned 4th of July

Besides Christmas, the 4th of July is my favorite local event. So much to do with the family and everything is outdoors.  The beautiful streets are lined with locals and tourists all enjoying our great town. This event is all Hailey's and they put on a mighty grand show all weekend long.

It is indeed a great day in Hailey.

If I may, I would like to suggest a few items that our family favorites:

*The Rodeo runs from July 2 to July 4th.  We love to get our cowboys hats on and Smith sunglasses and pretend that we are cowboys and cowgirls. Yee haw!  If you have a daring young lad or lady, be sure to sign them up for mutton busting---where they ride the sheep.  Fun times!  You can't go wrong with an evening at the rodeo. Bring some extra change since you can also purchase snacks there.  The sun is always bright, so I wasn't kidding about the sunglasses.

*If your child is lacking in western wear (the horror!), then stop by the Toy Store for 20% cowboy/girl gear.

THE BIG DAY

*BCRD Children's Carnival  9:00-12:00pm

*The Hailey Parade starts at noon.  If I were you, I would start setting up my chairs or blankets bright and early Sunday morning.  This is small town Idaho, they will be safe.  The best side for shade is the East side.  Fun parade full of locals and some candy!  Just to be prepared, parking isn't always easy, so I recommend biking into town.

*4th of July Criterium (after the parade).  The bikers ride super fast around downtown Hailey.

*Fireworks begin around dusk.  Typically that means 9:00pm or later.

I hope you enjoy the 4th of July as much as I do.  It's supposed to be a sunny 70 degrees. Just perfect!
