IT"S SUMMER TIME

School is out for all the kids in the Wood River Valley.  Lots of laughter and sweet voices can be heard in the parks, at the Y, and all over town.  Yeah for summer!

This past weekend, was the Sun Valley 1/2 Marathon and Kids Zone/Marafun.  This is the first time that this 1/2 Marathon has been run by locals and it turned out to be a tremendous success. All of this is due to the great race director, Brad Mitchell, and the marathon committee.  Of course, the volunteers were crucial and ever so helpful and friendly.

I was in charge of the Kids Zone and Marafun and had the most fun! Who can't have fun when happy, energetic kids are having a great time?  It was a lot of work putting on the event, but I'm already stoked for next year!  I loved organizing the Kids Zone and Marafun and more importantly, loved watching the whole event unfold.

Roughly 260 runners ran the grueling 13 miles and about 69 kids ran the 3 marafun races.  Many more families and spectators came out for the huge community event.

Pictures are on their way and I will be sure to share them!
