With day light savings, comes longer days for us to play more!
Since my husband comes home from work late, I have had to severely reduce my work out schedule to my weekend hikes with the dogs. It's fine with me since my primary focus is my family. Yet, now that it's still light outside when he comes home, the possibilities are endless---if I still have the energy at the end of the day.
Today marks the first run that I have ran since September and it felt good. I don't want to embarrass myself and tell you how long I lasted, but I have to start some where, don't I?
Next fun activity will be a bike ride. Can't wait for that one!
Not only am I planning on getting in better shape and better health, but perhaps I should sign up for one of many race options coming up in our awesome valley.
Don't know if I'm yet ready for the Sun Valley 1/2 Marathon, but that one is one of my goals. It's a challenging course, but a really pretty course! I will be there cheering everyone on and getting inspired.

Now, the one I really want to try this year is the Redfish Triathalon. There are different race options, so you can do it for fun or for hard core.

Of course, the family will once again be doing the Girls on the Run 5K run. We do it every year and just love this community event. Runners, walkers, kids, bikes and dogs are all fully welcome.

All 3 of these events are family friendly so what a great way to spend with your family and teach your kids some healthy lessons, while getting in a good work out.
See you on the bike path huffing and puffing.

Good for you! Another great summer race/goal is the Elephant's Perch Backcountry Run - mid July. And for some a great inspirational running read, check out "Born to Run" - by Christopher McDougall.
